This day is exclusively dedicated to computing as a science. It offers a unique opportunity to discover this science in a approachable and fun way, from many angles, thanks to discovery workshops, demonstrations, a conference and several challenges. And, this year, a big surprise awaits you, namely a unique IT Escape Game... for pupils, their teachers and their families!

This day aims at introducing you to several aspects of informatics, as a science, in an interactive and fun way. It is intended for pupils, their teachers and their families. There will be activities for everyone, from 6 to 112 years old!

Several activities will punctuate this day, including:

  • The Bebras Belgium Challenge

    Discover computing in a fun wau with challenges, for adults and children, in the form of a competition.

  • A unique IT Escape Game

    Solve puzzles by discovering computer science concepts, to find a treasure and be able to leave the event.

  • The ICT dans l'éducation conference

    Share your experience using ICT in your teaching or teaching computer science at your school.

The day takes place in the rooms of the ECAM Brussels Engineering School, a higher education institution which trains future industrial engineers, in particular in computer science. It is located in the Brussels Region, more precisely at the following address:

Access

  • directions_subway The easiest way is to take the STIB-MIVB metro 1 line, towards Stockel, and to get off at Alma.

  • directions_railway By train with SNCB-NMBS, you just have to reach the Bruxelles-Schuman station and take metro 1 line there.

  • directions_car By car, the easiest way is to go to “Place de l'Alma 1, 1200 Woluwé-Saint-Lambert”.

The ECAM opens its door at 9:30am to welcome you. The activities take place from 10am to 4:00pm and the day ends with a farewell drink, until 5:30pm.

The “IT Escape Game” takes place all day, from 10am to 4pm. For the rest, the day unfolds according to the following schedule:

The “ICT dans l'éducation” conference allows teachers to present and share activities that they set up in their school to teach computer science or to use ICT tools in their courses.

You can submit your application (French only) to be part of the nominees, who will be invited to present their initiative relating informatics and education now!

The detailed program and list of speakers will be available on May 6, 2019.

Registration for the day is required, even if you only participate in certain parts of it. The lunch and the farewell drink are offered to confirmed participants.
